Thank you, Form 5

A whopping success

We’re really honoured and impressed by the fundraising efforts of Form 5 pupils at Cranleigh Prep School in Surrey, who have raised a whopping £1825.21 for our Grange Village community.

‘We did a presentation’

They’ve done it in such creative ways too, starting with telling their parents all about The Camphill Family. ‘We did a presentation to them’, says Katherine, one of the pupils. And they finished this event on a lovely note, with all 75 of them singing the Beatles song ‘I’ll get by with a little help from my friends’.

‘We collected loads of clothes’

Their next idea, during spring term, involved hauling around lots of sacks of clothes in preparation for a ‘good-as-new’ children’s clothing sale. ‘We collected loads of clothes and then held three sales’, explains Genevieve, another pupil.

Then just before the end of the summer term everyone ran a sponsored marathon together – by breaking it down into relays. Another great idea and achievement!

‘I’ve enjoyed helping people’

It all took quite a lot of time and effort, but we hope all the pupils felt like Emma, who told us ‘I’ve enjoyed knowing that I’ve helped people.’ They’ve all certainly done that, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of the children and their very supportive teachers, Mrs Gravill and Mrs Brown, for all the thought and dedication they put into making a difference to others through The Camphill Family.
