Cooking and sharing good times with others are part of Cherry’s life every day at Grange Village. So are other things she enjoys, like making pottery and willow baskets. Since coming here, she’s made new friends and learned new skills.
A lovely place to be
Cherry is one of ninety people who choose to live in this community, and who, day by day, help to create its caring and encouraging atmosphere. Situated on the edge of the Forest of Dean, with views of rolling countryside and the River Severn, it’s a beautiful place, too.
With several workshops and a farm, there’s plenty of satisfying and interesting work. Some of Cherry’s friends also take courses at nearby colleges, or have jobs outside the community. And for a change of scene, or some shopping, there’s Newnham-on-Severn just a ten-minute walk away.
Thanks to friends who generously supported the construction of a spacious Hall, people at Grange Village have a great time putting on plays and concerts, and going to performances by visiting artists. Films are Cherry’s favourite thing to watch with all her friends – she’s a big fan of Harry Potter!
