Giving in memory

A lasting reminder of friendship

In the Botton Weavery, Lucinda is making oven gloves on a beautiful loom. ‘It’s really nice. I really like it’, she says. And the shiny brass plaque on its side bears the name of a frequent visitor and staunch supporter of the community for more than 20 years: Beryl.

‘It was so lovely the way the residents greeted and chatted with us’, recalls Beryl’s husband, David. ‘Beryl loved that, every time we visited.’ The loom is a lasting reminder of her friendship, thanks to the gifts people gave in lieu of flowers at her funeral.

Simple to organise

If The Camphill Family mattered to someone close to you, you too might like to consider making a collection in their memory at their service. Cheques simply need to be made payable to CVT Appeals Fund and sent to us with details of who the gifts in memory are for. Address to Mrs Susan Walker, Camphill Family Appeals Office, Botton Village, Danby, Whitby, YO21 2NJ. Please also let us know how we may contact you to thank you for your kindness, and if you wish, discuss how we may use your gift to help others.

Alternatively you might like to make a donation online.  If so, please use the donate button at the top of the home page.  However, please also send us an email via the link below to let us know your name and who you have made a donation in memory of.  We will then be able to thank you properly and allocate your gift correctly.

A further thought

Setting up a Tribute Fund is another way to remember someone you loved. Many people choose to set up a special page online, so that friends and family can easily view and contribute photographs, memories and donations.

For more information on organising a memorial collection or setting up a Tribute Fund, please contact Fran or Jackie at The Camphill Family Appeals Office on 01287 661294 or at family@camphill.org.uk Thank you.
